CD-R FAQI have used the gold Kodak CD-Rs in the past, but now they're no longer available. I heard that MAM-A discs are a good replacement.
· Yes. Mitsui Chemicals supplied their patented phthalocyanine dye to Kodak, which is the key component in CD-R manufacturing. The discs that MAM-A makes today are nearly identical to the ones made by Kodak, in fact MAM (formerly Mitsui Advanced Media) made media for Kodak at one time. The MAM Archive Grade CD-R has an expected lifetime of 300 years and the Archive Gold DVD-R, 100 years.
